    Sanchuan Medical Sdn Bhd is a GMP-certified Over-the-Counter (OTC) pharmaceutical manufacturer. It was founded in the 1950s and registered as a private limited company (‘Sdn Bhd’) in 1974.

     

    Sanchuan started from humble beginnings; the company’s founder aspired to help individuals and families who were suffering from poor living conditions in Ipoh during the early years of Malaysia. It was Sanchuan’s aim to develop more affordable products to cater to their needs.

     

    Today, Sanchuan is one of the leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in the state of Perak. Its products are distributed throughout West Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and China.

     

    Sanchuan has carved itself a large market share throughout West Malaysia, where its products are carried by over 80% of traditional Chinese medicine shops. They are also readily available in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, in retail centres such as Mid Valley Megamall and Pavilion.

     

    Sanchuan specialises in manufacturing galenicals, oral liquid products, and liquids for cutaneous (skin-related) application. These products are made for local pharmaceutical companies and foreign distributors.

    The GMP system we’ve implemented at Sanchuan Medical is pivotal to everything we do.

     

    It guides our manufacturing process from start to finish and covers each aspect of pharmaceutical production—including raw materials, facilities, equipment, staff expertise, and personal hygiene.

     

    It is designed to minimise the risks involved in each step of the process, ensuring that consistent and correct procedures are strictly followed.

     

    Sanchuan was recognised for its compliance with the ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ (GMP) in 1990.

     

    This recognition by the Ministry of Health’s National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau came after Sanchuan successfully fulfilled all the following requirements:

    • World Health Organisation (WHO)
    • ASEAN GMP guidelines
    • ‘Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme’ (PIC/S) standards

    GMP compliance is required to manufacturer OTC pharmaceutical products, in accordance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Health.

    Facilities & Operations

    Sanchuan owns a cutting-edge factory covering more than 10,000 sq ft in Ipoh. It manages all its manufacturing and packaging operations within its own factory.

     

    In 2011, Sanchuan’s factory underwent a major renovation. All its facilities were intensively upgraded, including the:

    • R&D laboratories
    • Quality Control (QC) laboratories
    • General offices
    • Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system

    Product Registration

    Sanchuan's expertise runs deep when it comes to registering products with the relevant authorities. Its experienced regulatory division knows all about the procedures, requirements and timeline of registering each new pharmaceutical product with the Ministry of Health’s National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau. Sanchuan always aims to have a product approved and commercialised within one year.

  • Research & Development

    Sanchuan’s core focus is the development of new products that fall in line with its mission to be the premiere OTC manufacturer in Southeast Asia, including:

     

    • Galenicals
    • Oral liquid products
    • Liquids for cutaneous (skin-related) application

     

    Products that are commissioned by its clients will be consulted on the product requirements and objectives, as part of its R&D process.

     

    Sanchuan follows a rigorous R&D process when it comes to new products:

     

    • Production team to develop samples for market testing
    • Marketing team to analyse the results of market testing and conduct competitive analysis. They will advise the client on the product margin
    • Sanchuan’s regulatory division liaises with the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau to finalise the product’s labelling and registration requirements
    • The Quality Control (QC) team will liaise with external laboratories to perform chemical testing
    • In-house pharmacists and chemists to follow up and ensure the product meets the required standards and is safe for consumption.

     

    As always, Sanchuan ensures full compliance with the GMP for all R&D efforts that it carries out.

    Pharmacist (Junior/Senior)

    Responsibilities:

     

    • To ensure the production areas, including all machinery, equipment, facilities, raw material, premise and SOPs are compliance to cGMP requirements.
    • To prepare, manage and review all relevant documents, Batch Manufacturing Record, SOP, Machine Record, Control Record or Report and other appropriate documents, in order to ensure all operations are to be carried out in a very efficient and effectiveness and proper manner and maintain a satisfactory system of the quality assurance at all times.
    • To ensure monthly report of the availabilities of the required resources are prepared to achieve the smooth production operation and to meet market requirement.
    • To prepare and manage validation reports.
    • To develop the training to the staff in order to ensure all activities carried out are compliance to cGMP.
    • To deal with all matters of the production and compliance with BPFK and other relevant authorities.
    • To be responsible for product registrations, renewals and product development.
    • For supervisor position, the selected candidate is responsible to supervise all the activities of the production department.

     

    Requirements:

    • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Pharmacy/Pharmacology, Science & Technology or equivalent.
    • A registered Pharmacist with PHARMACY BOARD OF MALAYSIA.
    • Required skill(s): cGMP, ISO, PIC/s, WHO.
    • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, English
    • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
    • Applicants must be willing to work in Ipoh.
    • Preferably Senior Executives specializing in Healthcare - Pharmacy or equivalent.
